ABOUT ME
Philip A. Gorge began his writing journey at a Miami area high school in 1976. After becoming the editor of his high school paper, he became the only high school hired intern with The Miami News. He worked in the sports department. Still in high school, he was hired by the Chicago Public Television Station to cowrite a documentary. He also covered high school sports for the Dade and Broward County weekly newspaper.
In 2010, he wrote the screenplay, A Friendly Romance.
His bucket list has always included writing a novel. More than two years ago, he decided to begin the project. With an interest in organized crime and witnessing the growing influence of sports betting, THE FIXER became the finished product.
THE FIXER is a fast moving read of Mob corruption, murder, blackmail, romance, betrayal, revenge and redemption. The story unmasks the corrupt relationship between today’s professional basketball universe and organized crime. It includes how two of the main characters, Josh and Veronica, manage a delicate love for each other through turbulent revelations, job crises and public ridicule.
He holds a business degree from the University of Florida. His career in finance has been over three decades. He currently lives with his wife, Julie, in North Carolina and has two wonderful children.
